The Amiyi-Akah Diaspora Association enters a new era with the passing of the leadership baton from Chief Kenneth Ikenna Egeolu (Ogbuhuru Uzor) to Mazi Cosmas Duru. This significant transition was marked on the Association's digital platform, where Chief Ogbuhuru Uzor, the founding president, formally entrusted leadership to his successor.

During Chief Ogbuhuru Uzor's opening remarks, he reflected on his tenure since July 2021 and proudly highlighted the administration's significant accomplishments in advancing the Amiyi-Akah community. Key milestones include the installation of boundary gates at all entrances into and out of Amiyi-Akah, totaling approximately 21 gates, construction of city entrance gate. This initiative sends a clear message regarding the ownership of the Amiyi-Akah Community Hospital.

The Amiyi-Akah Diaspora Association revitalized and equipped our community's vigilante, transforming it into the first standardized community vigilante in Akah Ebeiri, equipped with modern security gadgets. "Today, Amiyi-Akah stands as one of the safest communities in the entire Njaba local government area," he said. "Kudos to our dedicated vigilantes established under this administration.

During this period, with the assistance of the legal directorate, we drafted a comprehensive constitution for the association, ensuring governance continuity and providing a guide for the incoming administration," he emphasized.

Financially, under my stewardship as president, the association successfully raised over 35 million naira through donations, levies, and dues. These funds were strategically allocated to various infrastructural enhancements aimed at improving the Amiyi-Akah community. Key initiatives included the construction of city and boundary gates, procurement of advanced security equipment, and substantial support for community projects such as the modernization of the Amiyi-Akah Community Hospital.

Throughout my tenure, transparency and accountability were paramount. Detailed financial records were maintained, initially by Chief Fabian Ukaeje and subsequently by Hon. Chidubem Emerenini after he assumed the role of financial secretary.

Chief Ogbuhuru Uzor expressed heartfelt gratitude to his executives, all directorate members, and the entire association for their unwavering support and dedication throughout his tenure. He extended special recognition to Chief Nkemdirim Ugbaja and Dr. Pacheali Egeonu for their invaluable contributions and encouragement.

He also expressed his gratitude to Chief Thomas Obilo-Ugbaja, who has been supporting the association financially and morally, despite facing personal health challenges. He pleaded with Umu Amiyi-Akah who have his contact to check on him regularly because he was one of the major supporters of the association when he was in good health. 'He is a hero to the Amiyi-Akah Diaspora Association,' he concluded.

In his closing remarks, he kindly asked the Legal Directorate to administer the oath of office to the newly elected officers. He also humbly asked for forgiveness if his actions unintentionally offended anyone during his tenure and reminded the members of the association of the importance of unity. He encouraged every member to fully support the incoming executives as Amiyi-Akah continues to progress.

Chief/Sir Bright Francis Duru, serving as the head of the association's Legal Directorate, presided over the oath of office, with many members of the association actively participating online during the event.

Mazi Cosmas Duru, the new president of the Association, expressed gratitude during his inaugural address on the Association's digital platform, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of Chief Ogbuhuru Uzor.
He also recognized the efforts of Chief/Sir C.J.C Madueke and Chief Fabian Ukaeje, as well as Chief Dona Nwokedi, members of the legal directorate, and all committee members of the Association who supported the previous administration. He underscored their pivotal role in establishing a solid foundation for the Association and the community at large.

He encourage those who have left the Association due to minor misunderstandings and personal disagreements, as well as those who have remained silent, to reconsider their stance. "Amiyi-Akah belongs to all of us," he emphasized, "and we should strive to resolve misunderstandings based on principles rather than personal conflicts.
He went further to remind the members that government and governance are a continuum. He said, "In this essence, we shall enhance the achievements of the last executive while correcting any unintentional mistakes they might have made. After all, we're all humans.
In his closing remarks, he welcomed the other elected officers and promised to unveil a comprehensive leadership roadmap for his administration in the coming days.
