Amiyi-Akah Autonomous Community entered a new chapter on 28th December 2024 with Sir Dr. Madu Victor as the new President General, succeeding Sir Chief Vincent Egbuchilem. This marks an exciting new phase of growth and progress for the community.

 

In his first speech to the people, Sir Dr. Madu Victor U. thanked everyone for their support and for attending the General Meeting, which had the largest turnout in the community's history. He also expressed gratitude to the Royal Father, Eze Bar. Francis Ahanotu, IYI 1 of Amiyi-Akah, and his team for organizing the election smoothly.

 

"I am truly honored to be elected as your President General," said Sir Dr. Madu Victor U. "I thank the people of Amiyi for your overwhelming support. Your participation shows the unity and commitment of our community. Together, we will continue to build on the solid foundation laid by my predecessor, Sir Chief Vincent Egbuchilem."

 

He also thanked Sir Chief Vincent Egbuchilem for his leadership and for organizing the free and fair election.

 

 "Although all positions were unopposed, the success we are building on today is because of the hard work and dedication of Sir Chief Egbuchilem and his team," he added.

Sir Dr. Madu Victor U. also expressed gratitude to several important groups, including the Amiyi-Akah Diaspora Association, which has supported the community’s hospital project. This project will greatly improve healthcare in the community.

 

He praised the work of committees in key areas like town planning and sports, saying their dedication is essential for the community's growth.

 

A special message was given to the youth of Amiyi-Akah. "We want to see you more involved in the leadership of our community. We are ready to work with you and help turn your ideas into action," he said.

 

Sir Dr. Madu Victor U. ended his speech by encouraging everyone who supported Sir Chief Vincent Egbuchilem to continue supporting his administration. "Together, we will ensure transparency, fight corruption, and work hard to bring more development to Amiyi-Akah. We will fulfill the promises we made," he promised.
